This weekend marked our 11th wedding anniversary. Not going to overdo the self-indulgence with this one, but did want to acknowledge the event, and share a photo of the gift I gave her. Somehow, this wonderful woman has put up with me for this long, despite the fact that I'm a complete and utter pain in the ass.
Back in March I spent some time chatting with my old partner-in-crime from the Ziff Davis days, Simon Cox. I loved working with Simon. Between us, we ran the games group overseeing content (me) and creative (him) across all of the print and online brands, and we had a blast. Since those days, we've both moved on to other things - and Simon is now making a name for himself in the San Francisco art scene.
Mrs. D had mentioned that she really liked his work, and would be interested in owning a piece, singling out a couple of prints from his website that she was interested in. I pinged Simon and asked if he'd be up for doing something unique instead, and the result was this:
Needless to say, it was a big hit.
